pallettizzatore scatole

New 3kg Box Palletizer by Digama for Sica

Sica, a long-time customer of Digama, has recently updated its palletizing system with an innovative solution designed and built to measure. In the past, the company used a traditional palletizer that, unfortunately, proved to be limited in production capacity and required the use of 3 or more operators to manage the entire process. With the introduction of a new automatic palletizer, designed by Digama, the production flow has been completely revolutionized, ensuring greater efficiency and reduced operating costs.

KUKA anthropomorphic robots: advanced automation

After a thorough analysis of Sica’s specific needs, Digama designed an advanced solution that revolutionized the production flow, significantly improving operational efficiency. The new machine is equipped with two KUKA anthropomorphic robots, which perform specific tasks to optimize the palletizing process of 3 kg boxes.

The first robot is responsible for picking up the layers of boxes, while the second one is responsible for picking up the interlayers, thanks to two independent magazines for feeding the interlayers themselves. This innovative system allows palletizing to continue without interruptions even during the reloading phase of the magazines, thus eliminating any machine downtime.

The advantages of the new palletizing system

The adoption of the new palletizer has brought immediate and significant benefits for Sica:

Increased hourly production: Thanks to advanced automation and efficient robot management, hourly production has increased significantly.

elimination of machine downtime: The process is now continuous, without the need to stop the machine during layer pad refilling operations, significantly reducing downtime and increasing overall efficiency.

optimization of human resources: With the introduction of KUKA robots, only one operator is needed to monitor the entire palletizing process, enabling leaner management and reducing the risk of human errors.

The result? An extremely satisfied customer who has seen a tangible improvement in their productivity, while reducing operating costs and increasing system reliability.

Digama, thanks to its partnership with KUKA, continues to innovate in the industrial automation sector, offering increasingly high-performance solutions tailored to every need. This project with Sica is just one example of how the integration of advanced technologies can radically transform production processes, leading to an overall improvement in the competitiveness of companies.
